PUREBREED NIDORAN FAMILY
Species: N. kerocephalus
Subspecies: N. kerocephalus petra
[Note: First of all, I would like to thank my fellow deviant Lediblock2 for the ideas on this family and would want to apologise that I couldn't create this one exactly as described. So, here's the family of tyrants.]
The Nidoran family had already been a subject to various scientific researches. When the species was first discovered in Kanto, the researchers believed the male and female specimen to be entirely different species rather than a single family that shows extreme sexual dimorphism. It wasn't until Professor Samuel Oak's discovery that the family was united under the genus Nido and hence, started the worldwide research for sexual dimorphism in Pokémon.
The Purebreed Nidoran of Alneo are special because their discovery ended the long-termed dispute among scientists about whether this family is biologically related to the Rhyhorn family or not. The presence of rocky exoskeleton and similar lifestyle of this ancestral branch of Nidoran strengthened the presence of a link and on further genetic research, it was established officially.
Also, the earliest fossil remains of Purebreed Nidoran dates back to Jurassic era, the time when earliest mammal Pokémon developed. It is largely believed now that this species might be the missing link between earliest terrestrial mammals and prehistoric marine reptiles.
This subspecies of Nidoran possess strong hind limbs that enables them to use their forelimbs as hands, and hence, are able to learn a variety of punching moves at an earlier stage. This subspecies are much stronger and bulkier than their normal counterparts and exploits a strongly balanced offensive and defensive stat distribution. The largest recorded male specimen stood ten feet tall with an average height of eight, while the females are usually a few inches shorter but heavier. It is said that a Purebreed Nidoqueen charging with full momentum can demolish an entire mountain, though this is a feat that remains to be seen in reality.
These are awesome! Their designs, the concept, the information behind it, all of it makes this amazingly creative and look extremely cool!
Awesome work, dude! It's fine that you didn't manage to get it exactly as described - these are still freaking amazing!
