[Notes: Holy crap! I'm late again. Well, I was working on some other projects and a new artstyle (as you shall see from the next variant art), and it was so irresponsible of me to have this one drawn months ago, but not shared till now. My apologies on that!
Also, this one's another of my "what if they stayed out of human influence" themed variants, something I find quite interesting to work on. So, here's the Drowzee variant, with a troll-ish Hypno…]
.
The Cave-dweller Drowzee's existence dates back to the Ancient Ranseic Times, when the regions were unified into one solid landmass. As the continental shift tore Ransei into a multitude of regions, the land that would later become Alneo remained untouched by humans for ages, the Pokémon able to either develop differently, or remain unadulterated entirely.
.
Alnean Drowzee is a variant who changed views drastically upon its discovery. All around Kanto, the line had been infamous due to their unimaginable psychic prowess. And hence, almost every evil, from nightmares to dream-eating and kidnapping to mind control, had been associated with the species. Turned out, it wasn't until the early Medieval Times, that the Kantonese Drowzee started showing psychic potential and later became the Dream-eater variant we all know.
.
The Cave Dwellers, on the contrary, never suffered from lack of resources, being separated from human influence for long. Hence, the subspecies never felt the need to adopt Psychic abilities in order to survive against a more intelligent creature: human.
.
That said, Alnean Drowzee are among the least intelligent Pokémon recorded.  In wild, they depend solely to brute strength and feral instincts to survive, and have been known for attacking anything and everything, predator or prey alike. However, trainers strong and willing enough have been able to train these Pokémon and exploit their ruthless curb-stomp warfare in battles.
