[Notes: So, like Pidgey, Spearow is yet another Pokémon who got its name from a wrong creature. Based nothing on a sparrow, Spearow is actually more like a tiny falcon and Fearow is a Darter. Considering Fearow's origin, I decided taking a more straightforward route and base the variation on stork/heron and here's the result.]

As its name suggests, the Alnean Water Spearow Family is more of a water dweller than a hill dweller like its cousins. These subspecies have developed long legs and sharper beaks to snap unsuspecting water Pokémon straight out of the rivers. Being oriented around water, this branch of Spearow covers its feathers with excess body fat to provide water resistance and buoyancy. However, the lack of webbed feet restricts them from being able to swim, hence, this subspecies usually makes its nest near shallow bodies of water.

Being the sole species of the Telurostra genus, Spearow are widely infamous for their notorious pecks. The Alnean Fearow takes this up to eleven, as they catch their prey by literally stabbing it with their beaks, the barb on the beak preventing the prey from escaping.

The only challenge faced by Alnean Fearow is due to human interference. Since, these Pokémon are shallow-water dwellers, water pollution affects them more than the other deep-water oriented Pokémon like Wingull. Though Alneo Region is much natural than the other regions, the newly developing human cities and industries have caused these Pokémon to move towards deeper parts of the forests, making them a rare sight in general.
